Because our SQL Support and SQL Operations services are dependent on our monitoring your Microsoft SQL Server instances and Azure SQL Databases, we use our proprietary SQL Service Agent (SSA) tool. By installing an SSA proxy on a suitable Windows server, SSA is able to connect to the various SQL instances monitored and gather information, statistics and metadata every five minutes via the internal network. The data is then sent via a secure link to the SQL Service cloud-based SSA backend for further analysis in its own database. In it we process more than 2.5 million packages with information about different SQL Server instances every 24 hours. Where necessary, we generate alarms to the SQL Service Nordic AB SQL Support Team, and in some cases also to the customer.
